Well today is the end of the school term and the start of seven weeks of holidays. Roll on late nights and late mornings and much scratching of heads as to how to amuse three children aged 14, 11 and 4. We have no plans this summer due to various circumstances that I won't bleat on about here. Also at the moment I don't have the car and practically no money so I'll have to be more inventive than normal.
The eldest will no doubt amuse himself as the thought of accompanying his mum anywhere would be quite unbearable for him. The doorbell will ring any number of times for my daughter to go out and play I'm sure so it's activities for a four year old I'll be looking for most. I remember Susan at Canadian Abroad posting about making paper water bombs and home made volcanoes so they're on my list, definitely.
I'm sure the holidays will have an impact on my sewing time but I'm still going to try and squeeze in as much as I can without neglecting the kids of course!
This year we made a fabric gift bag and our now standard teacher's gift, peppermint creams. If you think these ones look pink you should have seen the first batch, wow they were bright and were more like peppermint sludge really. This is what happens when you leave an 11 year old in charge of food colouring. Anyway I hope her teacher likes her gift as Kirstin's really enjoyed this year at school.
So what have you planned for the holidays?
Bye for now
