camera case wristlet

A month or so ago I said I'd be making a camera case wristlet from the fabric I bought from Seamstar. Well today I found myself with some time on my hands (thank you hubbie, you're such a star). The pattern is a pdf download from Keyka Lou and I highly recommend it. She has many other bag/purse patterns that I fancy making too.

The instructions are very thorough and straightforward. As well as the patterns Keyka Lou also has tutorials on top stitching and slip stitching and many other techniques. I'm going to get hold of some more top stitching thread soon as it definitely makes a difference to the finished look of a project. I only have brown at the moment so didn't use any on this time. It's thicker than standard thread and you need to use a top stitching needle too as it has a bigger eye to allow for the thickness of the thread.

I was planning on making 5 more of these as part of my daughters party bags for her birthday sleepover next weekend but I know I'll not have time. I've got another plan for that now, fingers crossed I manage to make them in time. Anyway this one was supposed to be for me but when daughter clapped eyes on it she loved it so much I just had to give it to her.

As well as using it to carry her camera it will also double up as a phone case so when she goes out and about she won't have to put her bag down anywhere and there'll be less chance of her phone getting pinched as it was last week :(

Cute fabrics! I keep my camera battery charger in the little outer pocket, because I was forever forgetting where I left it before. It's so handy!

Thanks :) Good idea about the charger, at the moment I have to rake through a drawer full of cables and chargers to find mine.

This turned out super cute! I have the same pattern & have been meaning to make it for quite a while now & even have the same raindrop fabric! I love it with the yellow polka dots.

Thanks :) I've got another one cut out from more Riley Blake fabric from the same collection, must get round to sewing it together. Love Riley Blake stuff.
