I'm happy to report that Pay it Forward gift No 2 is now settled in it's new home. Sarah at Pings and Needles was the second person to sign up for my PIF and I knew straight away what I'd make for her. Sarah's gifts were based on two things Melody Miller fabric and my Keyka Lou Bucket Bag.
Many moons ago I won a giveaway of Melody Miller scraps from Sarah and in those scraps was the piece I used for my Bucket Bag. This was a starting point for my slightly obsessive stashing of Melody Miller fabrics. So I though this was a nice circle of gifting kind of thing to make Sarah something from the same fabric line that she had gifted to me.
Anyway I'm planning on getting loads of stitching done this week plus there is the 2nd meeting of the West of Scotland Modern Quilting Guild to look forward to on Thursday :)
Bye for now, happy sewing!
PS still no swooning done yet but loads going on in the flickr group, including a new USB contest - make an Ugly Swoon Block

This was a starting point for my slightly obsessive stashing of Melody Miller fabrics. So I though this was a nice circle of gifting kind of thing to make Sarah something from the same fabric line that she had gifted to me.
So I used the same fabrics but made something different, a zippy pouch and a wee pincushion. I also sent her some tablet too which I forgot to photograph. Anyway pop over to Sarah's and see what she says about it and also to see her fab giant swoon block!
Otherwise I have been as busy as I could be with the kids off school. I'm very behind but I have made some progress on my Mouthy Stitches pouch and I really hope my partner likes the way this is going. I did enlarge the blocks a bit from my original design as really you wouldn't see any of the fabrics pattern at the teeny tiny size they were. I did have a couple of sweary incidents when I lost concentration and cut off fabric I shouldn't have, especially on the red block which I made twice. The moral of the tale is don't try paper piecing late at night when you really should have gone to bed.

Wow Nikki they are gorgeous makes! I love the pouch and pin cushion so cute! The blocks for the mouthy stitches pouch are very cool too :)
Oh and if you don't mind could you turn off your word verification, it's so annoying ;)
Everything here is so wonderful! Love the pouch you are making for Mouthy Stitches and the PIF gifts are fabulous, too!

Love the Melody Miller inspired gifts, and the fabrics too, I've just recently starting stashing them ;o)
See you on Thursday!
The things you have made with the Melody Miller fabric are fantastic.
I like the pieced squares too- the centres are very cleverly cut out - something else added to the list to try
