are you joining the hexalong?

I have a new addiction, who'd have guessed it but after making only three hexagons I think I'm hooked. Inspired by Lynne and Gayle's Hexalong I thought I'd like to give it a shot. I though it would be a nice wee project to do while watching telly with the family in the evening instead of being squirreled away in the back room.

Hexalong

I bought this little Anna Maria Horner Innocent Crush 3" charm pack from Starlit Nest on Etsy quite a while ago and really wasn't sure what to do with it. Well turns out it's perfect for making these 2" hexies, just perfect. I've no fixed idea what I'll actually make but I can see loads of hexies being made over the next while, very addictive and quick, really quick.

I haven't got long so this will be a short post but do take a look at Lynne and Gayle's blogs and the Lily's Quilts flickr group where they have templates, videos, tutorials and lots of inspiration to guide you through various ways of making hexies. Also check out Sarah's Scrappy Hexacabinalong Tute using some very nice Happy Mochi Yum Yum fabric.

It's a brilliant way to use up scraps and it's a very portable project too so great for taking with you on holidays etc.

Anyway I must go, I'm off to do some housework as it really has to be done, got visitors coming so I need to make a bit of an effort. Maybe I could sneak in some more hexies, while pretending to do something useful, hmmmmm what do you think?

Bye for now

Am I the only person left who hasn't signed up to the Hexalong?! Love your fabric choice. But if I was doing hexies I would be making them eight inches big and then my project would go really quickly!!
