Yes we're already into the 3rd week of the kids being back at school. I've been longing for the routine to return after such a long summer break however the house does seem too quiet at times. Jamie is now in Primary 1 so that's all 3 children at school now - how old does that make me feel? - no don't answer that one :) They've all settled in fine and are loving school which is brilliant!
Somehow with all this extra time on my hands I have very little to show for it. I did get some sewing done when I met up with Katy, Sheila and Janet in Glasgow for the WCS Modern Quilt Group meeting. We had a lovely afternoon, chatting and sewing.
I was attempting to make some headway on my much neglected Swoon blocks. Don't be fooled by the photo above, they are my original 2 blocks done ages ago not new ones. I can't actually find these at the moment as I've moved my sewing room around and can't remember which safe place I put them, duh! I don't have any photos to share of the one I was working on yet as in all honesty the block pieces haven't left the bag I took them to Glasgow in oops. I'm slightly scared that my seams may be totally off as I'm not used to talking and sewing at the same time.
The only thing I have to show for the last week or so are these fabric magnets. I've been selling these through Honest Thistle which is a lovely shop selling contemporary gifts in Pitlochry. The shop is full of rather gorgeous things so I have to lock up purse when I go in, otherwise I'd spend my earnings very quickly.
I have joined in The Japanese Charm Swap run by Sarah - well how could I not a charm swap of japanese fabric it was a no brainer. I'm loving all the fabrics that folks have bought for the swap and can't wait to get my mitts on the charms although I have no idea what I'll make with them yet.
This is what I chose, it's Little Yellow Taxi bought from Eternal Maker, would you believe me if I said this is the first fabric I've bought for ages? Really I've been starting to worry lately as I've gone off buying fabric....yes honestly...who'd have thought it?
Anyway I now need to chop up this lovely metre of fabric into 56 5" charm squares..eek! I wasn't smart enough to buy extra fabric so lets hope I don't goof up.
Bye for now

Those little magnets are brilliant Nikki, good for you having an outlet for them.
I got my 1m from Eternal Maker too and it was a generous cut - I have leftovers!!
I see it turned up eventually and totaly worth the wait for those little cars. Magnets look lovely, I might make it to the shop one day.
